Service: Solar PV for Homes & battery storage installation
Problem
The client, owner of a 200-year-old property in Keighley, was keen to preserve the historic aesthetic of her home and therefore did not wish to install solar panels on the roof. Fortunately, the property benefits from extensive surrounding land, making it an ideal candidate for a ground-mounted solar PV system.
Solution
A designated area of land was excavated and levelled to create a stable foundation for the installation. A protective membrane was laid to prevent weed growth, and the surface was finished with decorative stone aggregate. This preparation provided a clean, flat base for the mounting trays and solar panels, ensuring both functionality and visual appeal.
Result
Below are some of the benefits our client is now seeing as a result of ground-mounted solar panels.
- Optimal Positioning: Panels can be placed to avoid shading, oriented due south, and set at the correct pitch for maximum efficiency.
- Ease of Maintenance: Ground-mounted systems are straightforward to access, clean, and service.
- Cost Efficiency: Eliminates the need for scaffolding or roofing work.
- Preservation of Property Aesthetics: Maintains the historic character of the dwelling without compromising on renewable energy benefits.
