We are Power 4 U. Run by Jamie and Jimmy, we’re a small and agile local business that takes pride in all of the work we perform for customers.
As it’s just the two of us, we’re involved in each stage of the process, from initial phone call and quote, through to install, commissioning and handover, ensuring that our service is delivered precisely to specification.
Our Solar Care package is also unique in the market, offering that extra added value to our customers.

- Ease & convenience: Having an EV Car Charger at home or work saves you or your team from having to charge your car on the road. Our EV Chargers can also be controlled via a smartphone app, making it much easier to charge your electric vehicle.
- Save on bills: It goes without saying that installing EV Car Chargers at home or work allows you to save money on using public chargers. On top of this, you have the potential to use ‘off-peak’ energy.
- Couple with Solar Battery Storage: If you have solar panels and battery storage with us, you can benefit from using any excess energy generated by solar to trickle charge your car, rather than it being sent back to the grid.

- Minimal maintenance: Generally speaking, once EV Car Chargers are installed, they require minimal maintenance.
The Solar Process

Step One
Full Site Survey
After receiving your enquiry, our friendly team will reach out with any questions and to book in a full site survey and consultation where we will look at your usage and spec a system to your needs.
We will assess the roof, and existing electrical setups, discuss other relevant products, and provide a full and comprehensive proposal within 48 hours of survey.

Step TWO
Install Day
We aim to complete install within 3 weeks of acceptance.
Applications, scaffolding and admin would have all been completed prior to site visit, and domestic installs take on average 1-2 days.
After the install is complete, we do a complete handover, discuss smart phone connection, safety pointers and answer any other questions.

Step Three
Aftercare
Post installation, we monitor all of our systems off site, to ensure everything is working as it should be.
We carry out annual service visits to keep your system working to its maximum potential. This is called Solar Care.
How do I save money on energy costs for EV charging?
Having an EV Car Charger at home automatically saves you money, as opposed to using public chargers. Additionally, depending on your Electricity contract, if you have different rates for off-peak and peak usage, you may benefit from charging your vehicle outside of peak hours by doing so on an evening.
What can be done about excess energy we don't use?
There are several options. The best thing to do is to store excess power in battery storage systems that allow you to store the power and use it overnight. We also offer other products such as an energy diverter that will divert excess power to hot water cylinders or we can link the solar to smart car chargers to trickle feed your electric car.
How long does it take to charge and Electric Vehicle?
The time taken to charge an Electric Vehicle varies depending on a number of factors, including the type of charger, the type of car, and the size of the battery. Generally you can fully charge an Electric Vehicle in 6-8 hours.

Power4U recently installed 17 panels on our Harrogate house in the pouring rain and a battery in the garage. The installers were polite and tidy. The system was producing electricity by 4pm that day and they produce when it is bright but not directly sunny .
The whole process was seamless, from the initial meeting, through consideration of the quotes, to the actual installation.

Well what can I say. From start to finish the lads have been great very professional. Along with SPS roofing they arrived when they said they would, due to rain it took them a little longer than they thought. But this is day two of my adventure and the system is doing more than I thought it would. Only issue I have is that I'm now exporting back to the grid and not getting paid for it. It's just a matter of time. Just be warned they all like a nice bacon and egg tea cake. I would recommend Jimmy & Jamie to anyone who was looking for a local installer

Great Job from start to finish. Came round to give us a quote for Solar and Battery storage within the week, written quoted followed quickly after that. I was having my house re-roofed at the same time and Jimmy / Jamie worked seamlessly with Hunter Roofing to fit the solar as part of that work - end result is solar panels 'in roof' all aligned nicely with the new tiles. Their work is of a high quality and a really neat, professional looking finish. They even took the time to explain how everything works and how to get the best out of the system. Definitely recommend them to anyone who's having or thinking of having the same work done.

Power4U installed my solar system just short of a year ago and even though it was quite a miserable year for weather, it has generated over 10% more than the estimated yearly output I was quoted, which I'm very happy with.

Really pleased with our new solar system. These guys were great, responsive to our needs and happily updating and reviewing our quote until we’d settled on the system that matched our needs and budget. Considerate workers. Both of us work from home and disruption was kept to an absolute minimum meaning work was not compromised or impacted at all. There was a glitch with one of the bits of kit that was installed and they didn’t leave until it was all sorted and tested and fully functioning. When we’re ready to upgrade to a battery system too we’ll definitely come back to Jimmy et al for that.
