About Power4U Ltd
We are Power 4 U. Run by Jamie and Jimmy, we’re a small and agile local business that takes pride in all of the work we perform for customers.
Jimmy | Director
Here's Jimmy, one of our Directors.
Jimmy started life as an Electrical Engineer in the RAF. He worked in this position for 7 years.
In 2019, Jimmy lef the RAF to pursue a career as a commercial electrician, before establishing Power 4 U with Jamie in January 2021.
Jamie | Director
Meet Jamie, Director and the other half of Power 4 U.
Jamie was a Fire and Security Engineer for 9 years before completing his training to become a qualified electrician in 2020.
Jaime joined forces with Jimmy in early 2021 and together they created Power 4 U.
Our History:
We are Power 4 U. Run by Jamie and Jimmy. We first met at school and, being in the same industry, helped each other on jobs, before joining forces and going into partnership.
Power 4 U was established in January 2021. We specialised in commercial and industrial electrical installations, and carried out national installations, including swimming pools, factories and agricultural buildings.
In 2022 we decided to take the plunge into renewable energy. Having done a couple of solar installations for our commercial clients we saw a business opportunity in a growing market as well as doing our bit to help the environment. By mid-2022 we had transitioned into one of the leading renewable energy companies in our local area.
Why Power 4 U?
With customer service and satisfaction at the forefront of our business, we believe in a personalised approach. Between the two of us we have conducted every site survey, completed every installation and answered every phone call and we believe our reviews speak for themselves.
We are one of few renewable energy providers that works closely with local roofing contractors to ensure all the roof work is carried out correctly prior to our installs, and we ensure that this roofing work comes with a 20 year guarantee.
Our Solar Care package is also unique in the market, offering that extra added value to our customers.

Power4u installed my solar panels and battery system and did an outstanding job. Everything was completed in a single day, and the finish is incredibly neat — no visible cables at all, as they ran everything through the wall cavity and everything was left tidy. Professional, efficient and clearly very skilled. I would highly recommended Jimmy, Jamie and their team.

Jimmy and Jamie did thorough, expert and timely work from survey through to the switch-on of my solar&battery and EV charger installation. The quote was competitive and they were careful to ensure the job was cosmetically as well as functionally as good as it could be. The only hiccup was a delay with the roofer they used as the roofer's prior job had overrun with unforeseen complications. However Jimmy and Jamie managed to make sure than no additional overrun was caused by this delay as they were straight back to work as soon as the roofers had finished their bit here. No one can guarantee there's going to be no unforeseen problems but it's how you deal with them that counts. The solar system itself is great - I am running both the house and electric car from the system and not needing to pay for electricity (bar the standing charge) or fuel is a treat. I would highly recommend these solar system installers.

Brilliant company - came and installed the solar panels and battery with no issues, at a great price. Really friendly, and also helped out with some aftercare issues that weren't of their making. Would definitely recommend.

We recently had a solar and battery system installed by Power 4U and I couldn’t be happier with the whole experience.
From the outset, the quote was detailed, clear and gave me real confidence in the solution being proposed. The installation itself was completed to a really high standard. everything is neat, tidy and clearly done with care and professionalism.
Jamie and Jimmy were both excellent throughout. friendly, approachable and always happy to answer questions, which made the whole process straightforward and stress-free.
The system is performing really well and the overall setup has exceeded expectations.
It’s also great to be able to support a growing local business rather than going with a large corporation. I’d highly recommend Power 4U to anyone considering solar or battery installation.

Power4U recently installed 17 panels on our Harrogate house in the pouring rain and a battery in the garage. The installers were polite and tidy. The system was producing electricity by 4pm that day and they produce when it is bright but not directly sunny .
The whole process was seamless, from the initial meeting, through consideration of the quotes, to the actual installation.
We are very happy with the end result.

I recently contacted Power4U about installing a battery storage solution so I could take advantage of off-peak electricity rates overnight and use the stored energy throughout the day. I also planned to switch from gas central heating to electric heaters powered by that stored off-peak electricity.
From start to finish, Jimmy and the team were outstanding. They took the time to walk me through the full solution, clearly explaining how everything works, what the system can deliver, and any limitations I needed to be aware of. Their advice was honest, practical, and genuinely focused on helping me get the most from my energy setup.
To make things even better, they had all the parts in stock, and the installation was completed smoothly in just a couple of hours. No fuss, no delays – just a professional job done quickly and to a very high standard.
I’m extremely pleased with the results and the level of service I received. I’d highly recommend Power4U to anyone considering renewable energy solutions or looking to reduce their energy bills. They really know their stuff and deliver exactly what they promise.

Well what can I say. From start to finish the lads have been great very professional. Along with SPS roofing they arrived when they said they would, due to rain it took them a little longer than they thought. But this is day two of my adventure and the system is doing more than I thought it would. Only issue I have is that I'm now exporting back to the grid and not getting paid for it. It's just a matter of time. Just be warned they all like a nice bacon and egg tea cake. I would recommend Jimmy & Jamie to anyone who was looking for a local installer

A friendly and professional service from both Jimmy and Jamie throughout the process. A prompt and comprehensive site survey and proposal with high quality installation, equipment and workmanship. The job was for a village hall in the Yorkshire Dales National Park this requiring planning application and also funding applications so the process was very protracted. Due to the commitment and communications throughout from Jimmy the install eventually went ahead following the approval of applications being granted.
Many thanks and 'we' have no hesitation in recommending Power4u.

Great Job from start to finish. Came round to give us a quote for Solar and Battery storage within the week, written quoted followed quickly after that. I was having my house re-roofed at the same time and Jimmy / Jamie worked seamlessly with Hunter Roofing to fit the solar as part of that work - end result is solar panels 'in roof' all aligned nicely with the new tiles. Their work is of a high quality and a really neat, professional looking finish. They even took the time to explain how everything works and how to get the best out of the system. Definitely recommend them to anyone who's having or thinking of having the same work done.

Top quality work. Very professional and friendly with great attention to detail. Would recommend.
UPDATE - I recently had a battery added to my solar system and both Jimmy and Jamie were very helpful throughout. Power4U installed my solar system just short of a year ago and even though it was quite a miserable year for weather, it has generated over 10% more than the estimated yearly output I was quoted, which I'm very happy with.

Really pleased with our new solar system. These guys were great, responsive to our needs and happily updating and reviewing our quote until we’d settled on the system that matched our needs and budget. Considerate workers. Both of us work from home and disruption was kept to an absolute minimum meaning work was not compromised or impacted at all. There was a glitch with one of the bits of kit that was installed and they didn’t leave until it was all sorted and tested and fully functioning. When we’re ready to upgrade to a battery system too we’ll definitely come back to Jimmy et al for that.

Excellent experience dealing with Power4U who delivered and installed our solar PB system. Quick, efficient with super communication throughout. When the job couldn’t be completed due to the weather they came back as soon as they could to finish the job. High quality workmanship and supplied great equipment. I would have no hesitation in recommending them to others.
