We are Power 4 U. Run by Jamie and Jimmy, we’re a small and agile local business that takes pride in all of the work we perform for customers.

Here's Jimmy, one of our Directors.
Jimmy started life as an Electrical Engineer in the RAF. He worked in this position for 7 years.
In 2019, Jimmy lef the RAF to pursue a career as a commercial electrician, before establishing Power 4 U with Jamie in January 2021.

Meet Jamie, Director and the other half of Power 4 U.
Jamie was a Fire and Security Engineer for 9 years before completing his training to become a qualified electrician in 2020.
Jaime joined forces with Jimmy in early 2021 and together they created Power 4 U.
Our History:
We are Power 4 U. Run by Jamie and Jimmy. We first met at school and, being in the same industry, helped each other on jobs, before joining forces and going into partnership.
Power 4 U was established in January 2021. We specialised in commercial and industrial electrical installations, and carried out national installations, including swimming pools, factories and agricultural buildings.
In 2022 we decided to take the plunge into renewable energy. Having done a couple of solar installations for our commercial clients we saw a business opportunity in a growing market as well as doing our bit to help the environment. By mid-2022 we had transitioned into one of the leading renewable energy companies in our local area.

With customer service and satisfaction at the forefront of our business, we believe in a personalised approach. Between the two of us we have conducted every site survey, completed every installation and answered every phone call and we believe our reviews speak for themselves.
We are one of few renewable energy providers that works closely with local roofing contractors to ensure all the roof work is carried out correctly prior to our installs, and we ensure that this roofing work comes with a 20 year guarantee.

Power4U recently installed 17 panels on our Harrogate house in the pouring rain and a battery in the garage. The installers were polite and tidy. The system was producing electricity by 4pm that day and they produce when it is bright but not directly sunny .
The whole process was seamless, from the initial meeting, through consideration of the quotes, to the actual installation.
We are very happy with the end result.

I recently contacted Power4U about installing a battery storage solution so I could take advantage of off-peak electricity rates overnight and use the stored energy throughout the day. I also planned to switch from gas central heating to electric heaters powered by that stored off-peak electricity.

Well what can I say. From start to finish the lads have been great very professional. Along with SPS roofing they arrived when they said they would, due to rain it took them a little longer than they thought. But this is day two of my adventure and the system is doing more than I thought it would. Only issue I have is that I'm now exporting back to the grid and not getting paid for it. It's just a matter of time. Just be warned they all like a nice bacon and egg tea cake. I would recommend Jimmy & Jamie to anyone who was looking for a local installer

The job was for a village hall in the Yorkshire Dales National Park this requiring planning application and also funding applications so the process was very protracted. Great Job from start to finish. Came round to give us a quote for Solar and Battery storage within the week, written quoted followed quickly after that. I was having my house re-roofed at the same time and Jimmy / Jamie worked seamlessly with Hunter Roofing to fit the solar as part of that work - end result is solar panels 'in roof' all aligned nicely with the new tiles. Their work is of a high quality and a really neat, professional looking finish. They even took the time to explain how everything works and how to get the best out of the system. Definitely recommend them to anyone who's having or thinking of having the same work done.

Power4U installed my solar system just short of a year ago and even though it was quite a miserable year for weather, it has generated over 10% more than the estimated yearly output I was quoted, which I'm very happy with.

These guys were great, responsive to our needs and happily updating and reviewing our quote until we’d settled on the system that matched our needs and budget. Considerate workers. Both of us work from home and disruption was kept to an absolute minimum meaning work was not compromised or impacted at all. There was a glitch with one of the bits of kit that was installed and they didn’t leave until it was all sorted and tested and fully functioning. When we’re ready to upgrade to a battery system too we’ll definitely come back to Jimmy et al for that.
